My biggest advice when it comes to decorating is to first figure out the style you want for a room. Get on Pinterest, find an inspiration room, then do lots of online research for great pieces that can bring the room together. PINTEREST IS EVERYTHING when it comes to decorating these days. Below are a couple of my inspiration rooms for my living room.
My main motto for decorating is find affordable pieces that look expensive. With a little research and shopping around, you can definitely decorate your home in a classy, elegant way while still on a budget.
People always ask me where I found the pieces of furniture and decor for my living room so I have posted the links for most of the pieces 🙂 Almost every piece I managed to purchase at a sale price, so if you are looking for something cheaper, wait around for a sale on one of these websites!
Carmen Sofa in Ecru: NAILHEADS ARE MY LIFE.
Uttermost Henzler Coffee Table: This is one sexy coffee table. Incredible quality.
Liliana Armchair – Teal Ironwork: Gives the room a little color and pattern, because obviously I have an obsession with whites and creams.
Martha Stewart Living Fretwork Rug in Buckwheat Flour: My mom actually gave me this rug because it gave her an excuse to buy a new one…guess who I get my love for decorating from. I am pretty sure she paid twice as much for this rug on another site, so this sale on Home Depot is great!
Large Mirrored Clock: I purchased this on sale at Kirkland’s, but unfortunately it is no longer available. If you want something similar, I would google the crap out of “Large Mirrored Clock”. But that’s just me.
Gold Mirrored Accent Tables: I bought these at HomeGoods. If I had to choose one store to shop at for affordable furniture it would be HomeGoods. I could go on and on about how much I love HomeGoods. If you live in the Houston area, the best HomeGoods around is the one by my office in Atascocita. Hands down. My mom will back me up on this. Almost all of the tabletop decor in my living room, the lamps, and pillows, were also purchased at HomeGoods. HomeGoods should just hire me to be a spokesperson for them. And Amazon. Don’t get me started on my love for Amazon.
Framed Map: This is a poster print of a vintage map of Paris framed in gold.
The day bed/lounge is actually an antique piece that my mom had in her bedroom as a child. Pretty cool! My mom has made me large pillows that are now on it, and it’s an amazing spot to be lazy and watch TV from. It also serves as an extra bed for guests!
So there you have it! You can follow me on Pinterest for decor ideas and tips 🙂
